What is a storytelling architect?

A storytelling architect designs how a company's story is conceived, carried and perceived. They start inside, with how people communicate and whether the knowledge the story depends on is shared or hidden. Then they audit the pain points and the proof points, so the market hears one story often enough to repeat it.

What is storytelling architecture?

Storytelling architecture is the structure behind a company's story: not just the words, but the people, systems and channels that carry them. A message is just one part of the broader story, so the architecture rests on three pillars. Define the narrative. Build the content that carries it. Amplify it until the market repeats it.

How is a storytelling architect different from a PR agency or an investor relations firm?

A storytelling architect audits the inside first; a PR agency audits the outside: the pitch, the placement, the press. The storytelling architect works with operations and IT to see how people communicate, how they access information, and how vital domain knowledge is shared or hidden. That's where external communications usually fail. Not at the pitch, but inside, where the audit was never done.

An investor relations firm takes the story to shareholders and stands behind the disclosure. I'm not IR, and I'm not promotion. I build the narrative layer your IR firm distributes.

Why do external communications fail?

External communications usually fail because companies only audit the outside: the story told, not the story lived. They polish the deck, the disclosure, the release, and never examine how people actually talk, share and hide what they know. The strongest version is usually the one nobody has written down. When it stays inside, the market writes its own.

Who needs a storytelling architect?

Materials2Market works with mining, energy, renewables, cleantech, construction and industrial companies: the builders, the producers and the innovators, especially those preparing to raise capital. It also fits startups and technology companies whose product has moved faster than the market's understanding of it.

When the benefit isn't obvious, people don't piece it together; they move on, missing the picture. Customers, investors and partners fill the gaps with their own version of the story, not yours.

How does storytelling architecture work?

Three steps, in order. Each one makes the next one work harder, inside the company and out.

01 Define

Every company already has a narrative that sells it; it just hasn't been put into words the market can repeat. I find it and make it clear to investors, customers, your own people and the wider market.

02 Build

A narrative without a content strategy is just an idea. I identify the voices that can carry it, from the C-suite to the experts in the field, and build the content system they draw from.

03 Amplify

A field expert's post can travel as far as a C-suite interview in an industry publication. I move one narrative from internal channels to external ones: up, down and across the company, then out to investors and the press.
